Purpose of the Annual Fund The Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Virginia is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) corporation, and gifts to the Society are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. To effectively help preserve and commemorate colonial history, the society needs annual contributions to enable it to make charitable gifts to appropriate organizations dedicated to the preservation of colonial history and / or education about the colonial period. Donations by the Virginia Society are matched in part by the General Society of Colonial Wars, so any gifts to the Virginia Society are effectively multiplied. |
